With today’s constantly rising cable prices and the limited availability of inventory, this Splitter makes more sense than ever.  The Cam Splitter allows you to use a larger cable to get downstream and then use a smaller gauge cable to the panels.  For example, if your panel is 150′ away from your power source, this Cam Splitter would allow for you to use (1) 100′ 4/0 stage cable Cam Cordset (5 sticks at approximately $3,200) to the Cam Splitter and then (2) 50′ #2 Stage Cable Cordsets (5 sticks each at approximately $1,200) as opposed to using an additional 100′ 4/0 Stage Cable Cordset (at another $3,200), not even yet taking into consideration the additional costs associated with the labor and higher shipping costs if based on weight.
