Continuous Equipment Grounding and Bonding System
At the heart of the assembly is a continuous, un-spliced #12 AWG insulated solid-copper equipment grounding conductor. The incoming source equipment grounding conductor is connected to this internal grounding path, which then remains physically continuous throughout the complete assembly.
At each duplex receptacle, only the insulation required for the grounding termination is removed. The solid-copper conductor is formed and secured at the receptacle grounding terminal without cutting the conductor, preserving conductor continuity from the first receptacle through the final receptacle.
After the final receptacle, the same continuous grounding conductor extends to dedicated bonding points on the powder-coated steel enclosure body and enclosure cover. This creates a common equipment-grounding and bonding path for all receptacles and exposed metallic enclosure components.
*Grounding integrity does not depend upon receptacle mounting screws, enclosure mounting wings, hinges, or incidental metal-to-metal contact through powder-coated surfaces.
